Counting Blessings: Maleficent...Magnificent!!

Today's Blessing:  A Drive-In Movie!  :)

A few days ago, Scott and I went to Kent's Market to pick up on a few sale items.  A memorabilia item hit us a we walked in the door!  There on display were huge bags of popped popcorn!  Awww the memories!  We both looked at each other and knew we were both thinking the same thing..."Remember when we'd always buy those big bags of popcorn and take the kids to the drive-in movie?!"

We were both bit by the drive-in movie bug!  When the kids were still at home, we always tried to make it to the drive-in movie at least once during the summer.  We'd buy the big bag of popcorn, licorice, pizza (sometimes) and other goodies and make a party of it.  So Scott went online and discovered that some pretty fun shows were playing!  I got excited!  We looked at our calendar, saw that nothing was going on tonight, and decided tonight would be the perfect night to go since Scott has tomorrow off work.

So tonight we loaded up Cody's "Love Sack" in the back of our little pick-up truck, popped up a little popcorn, stopped off at Walmart for batteries and a small container of ice cream and then we were off.  We left a little later than we wanted to so we were still getting situated when the movie trailers began, but by the time the movie started we were snuggled up close enjoying ice cream, popcorn, and tradition!  The first movie was "Maleficent."  It was awesome!  I loved the twist they did on the evil fairy.  The second movie was "Million Dollar Arm."  It was good but I enjoyed "Maleficent" much more.

We were a little worried about rain so we covered the love sack with a tarp, but all was good.

(And yes, we didn't get in bed until about 2:30 am, but it was totally worth it!  It was a great night! :)
