Day 240 (Empty Again) - Library Fair!!

After six weeks of hectic, time consuming planning, our Library Fair finally arrived!!

It was our first ever.  We planned on 200 people showing up...we had 558!!  And I'm pretty sure the door counter didn't catch everyone as they came through in mobs!!

How exciting!!  For the past two weeks I've been sweating and worrying with the thought, "What if no one shows up?!"  My boss has been rubbing salt in a wound by saying to me, "If no one shows up, this is going to be the biggest waste of money!"  Hence, my worrying and sweating.  But it was a big success and half-way through the fair I was sent to the store to purchase more cookies and more booth handouts!!

My co-workers are the greatest!  There are only 14 of us who work at the library and everyone was willing to help.  Now 14 people is not a big pool of people to pull off a huge Library Fair so we had nine awesome volunteers who came to help...Scott being one of them!!  Not only has he put up with my whining and worrying and working outside of work time, but he helped for over four hours (after working his eight hours at the Post Office!) at the front door greeting people and giving instructions.  He is definitely my better half!!

The biggest draw of our Library Fair was Cojo the clown!!  He was amazing!  People came just to see him! He stood for four plus hours tying amazing balloon creations and the kids simply ate it up!!  All of us got a break during the night for a bit of pizza and some veggies, but not Cojo!  He had a constant line from 3:00 until 7:00!  Here we thought he could wander around the library and randomly talk to people and tie some balloon animals here and there!  Ha!  That never happened!  The minute he walked in the door he had a following!  I felt bad because I had to move him into a corner upstairs away from the front door because people couldn't get in!!  He was totally mobbed!!  He was the best clown ever and greeted the first child just as happily as the last child!

At the end of the night we can still smile!
