Counting Blessings: Celtic Fingerstyle Guitarist

Today’s Blessing:  Great Entertainment (and free to those who came too!!)

The Brigham City Library hosted a Celtic Fingerstyle Guitarist tonight as part of their National Library Week celebration…sort-of.  The library director received an email several months ago from this performer and since she really enjoys Celtic music, she felt it would fit in perfectly as part of the National Library Week celebration.  As committee members for the National Library Week celebration, we totally welcomed the suggestion especially since she was willing to pay for it!  And yes, National Library Week was April 13-19 but he couldn’t come then so we just extended the celebration a bit! ;0)

Jerry Barlow was excellent!  His music was beautiful and he was quite the comedian as he weaved in personal experiences and Celtic history.  By the end of the concert, I wasn’t sure when he was telling the truth or when he was joking around.

Scott let me buy two of his CDs – I’m excited to listen to them!  I wish Cody could have come since he enjoys playing the guitar so much.  Since the concert was in the library, the whole show had a pretty relaxed feeling and Jerry Barlow was totally open to questions from the audience throughout his concert.  Afterwards a group of young musicians surrounded him with questions and seeking guitar insights and Jerry was happy to help them.  It was a great program!  Probably one of the best the library has offered!
