Day 346b (Not So Empty Again) - A Special Day for a Special Family

I have two very special nephews...Logan and Hunter Maw.  They have both already gained eternal salvation, they're just here to help the rest of us along the way.

Logan and Hunter both have Fragile X Syndrome.  It's a hereditary disorder carried through their mother's line but it had never surfaced until this generation.  Weird, right?

My brother Kenny and his wife, Leisha, have been wanting to get the boys baptized for several years now, but their bishop was adamant they didn't need to be baptized so it was never done.  Kenny and Leisha totally respect their priesthood leaders but down inside they wanted their boys baptized.  When a new bishop was put in, they approached him about getting the boys baptized.  He felt they didn't need to be baptized either, but if Kenny and Leisha wanted them baptized he didn't have a problem with it.

So today was a very special day for my brother and his wife.  FIRST!  This morning, their oldest daughter Daidre went through the Logan temple for her own endowment.  She will be leaving to serve a mission in Mexico on October 16.  THEN tonight, Logan and Hunter were baptized.  Oh!  Talk about special!  They were soooo excited!  Literally bouncing in their chairs - especially Hunter who definitely is the more social one of the two.  Logan seemed to be dealing with the whole thing by ignoring it, but I'm sure he was excited too.  Daidre gave the talk on baptism - geared just for their level, and then Leisha's mom gave the talk on the Holy Ghost - again geared just for them.  Logan and Hunter were so cute to watch and listen as they excitedly responded to questions and said they wanted to follow Jesus Christ.  I was crying before the baptism even began!  The spirit was so sweet and special!  It was a grand finale to my whole day!! :)
One Special Family...Leisha,Logan, Elana, Hunter, Kenny, and Daidre
