Wow! It's hard to believe that just a little more than one year ago, President Thomas S. Monson made that historic announcement of the missionary age change. Now, within a years time, thousands of worthy young men AND young women have joined God's Army in inviting others to Come Unto Christ.
Today my niece, Daidre, spoke in church...her last time in her ward for at least 18 months. Daidre turned 19 on September 14 and on October 2, my brother Kenny and his wife Leisha will drop her off at the Salt Lake Airport to report to the MTC in Mexico! Then after six weeks, she will fly back to America to "The Big Apple" and begin sharing the gospel with the Spanish speaking people in the New York, New York Mission. What blessings are in store for her, her family, and the people she has the opportunity to meet and teach!! Daidre will do an awesome job!!
I love what Daidre has chosen to go on her missionary plaque...instead of a scripture, it's a hymn. It's also a hymn that Jessica loves; however, both Jessica and Daidre love a different piano arrangement than what is in the hymn book but the words are the same and oh so beautiful!

Cool, wish I could have been there.
